About Olga Segura

Olga Segura is a Mexican producer and activist currently residing in the United States.  Her last film, Waiting for the Barbarians was based on the novel written by Nobel Prize winner J.M. Coetzee, it was directed by Oscar-nominated Ciro Guerra, and premiered at the Venice Film Festival 2019.  Her most recent project is a documentary based on the 3 time Latin Grammy winner singer and composer Carla Morrison which she is co-directing and producing.  Segura has recently partnered with Exile Content to create the Latina Creative Incubator for the development of emerging female and non-gender binary Latinx content creators.  In addition, along with her partners, writer Alex Kondrake and activist Monica Ramirez, she founded The Latinx House, a platform for people who appreciate, support and celebrate the excellence of the Latinx community. Segura is also a co-founder of She Se Puede a movement and platform designed to empower the next generation of Latinas. I in addition, Segura is passionate about amplifying other women through her digital content series, Decididas.

    Wow! Olga is so passionate and amazing!! I couldn’t pick just one thing from this interview. The whole thing spoke to me as a woman and a mother.
    I see creativity as a birthing process which can be slow and painful, yet the results are so worth it.
